Ground Zero Engineering is a
design engineering company specializing in microprocessor based home automation
appliances.
In August of 1998, Ground Zero Engineering began developing Alpha, the first
microprocessor controlled telephone switching system, designed exclusively for
home use. The concept was proven and patented.
Alpha brings the flexibility of a business PBX system to the home with a long
list of features not found in business systems. Easy to use programming menus,
easy to remember extension numbering scheme, parental controls for usage timing,
outgoing number blocking, and transparent operation to list a few. You won't
even know it's there until you dial an extension number, it's that user
friendly.
Ground Zero Engineering has designed in key safety features in Alpha. In the
event of loss of power, all telephones are connected directly to the incoming
telephone line. Programmable emergency numbers that can be dialed even if an
extension is "timed out" in parental control mode. The basic (911)
emergency code has been programmed into the system and can't be added to the
lockout table.
In August of 2000, Ground Zero Engineering began the final development phase of
Alpha. The final prototype boards were designed and ordered. When completed the
software, and soft features will be finalized.
Future Products and Applications
Ground Zero Engineering is now
beginning work on several new concepts for the home automation market.
Everything from heating and cooling system controllers to lawn and garden
sprinkler controllers, microprocessor controlled.
Additional Information
Ground Zero Engineering invests heavily in R&D, and plans to continually
introduce new products with affordable, easy-to-use installation kits. Ground
Zero Engineering's headquarters are located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, also
known as Michigan's automotive silicon valley.
